OUR POLICIES

  • Do I have to make an appointment?
Yes. If you desire a specific day or time, an appointment will be necessary. Same day appointments are usually available but cannot be guaranteed.
  • How long is a session?
We offer various time increments; 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes, 75 minutes or 90 minutes. You choose the amount of time depending on what your schedule allows.
  • What will my first session be like?
When you come for your first massage, you will need to arrive 10-15 minutes early in order to complete the required paperwork. When the forms are complete, the therapist will greet you and bring you to the treatment room. You and the Massage Therapist will then review the paperwork and address any questions or concerns either may have. The therapist will then leave the room so you can prepare for the session.
  • Can you work on an isolated area?
Yes. However, your first session is generally a discovery session. This is a full-body massage which is done to make sure the pain is not being referred from another area. Sometimes working the opposite and surrounding muscle groups addresses the primary complaint more effectively. Having discussed what area is bothering you, if any, the therapist will be sure to give extra focus to that area.
  • Do I need to remove all my clothes?
No. It’s your choice. Remove clothing to your level of comfort. However, if you wear clothing during the massage, make sure the massage therapist can access the parts of your body you expect to be massaged through your clothes.
  • Will it hurt?
It shouldn't. Give the massage therapist complete and accurate health information and let your massage therapist know your needs.
  • What should I do if I experience discomfort?
Communication is key. During the massage session, tell your massage therapist if you have any discomfort, whether it is from the massage or from any distractions related to the environment, including amount of pressure, speed of movement, room temperature, music volume or lighting.
  • Do I need to talk?
Some people like to talk during a massage session, while others remain silent. Sometimes talking can be a way of unburdening oneself or opening up. Sometimes being silent can be a way of concentrating or letting go of thoughts.
  • What if I fall asleep?
Some people do fall asleep. If you do, your massage therapist will wake you at the end of your session. Most people feel invigorated by massage.
  • Can you make my pain go away in one session?
In some cases, yes; in others no. In most cases, the first massage will start loosening the knot(s) and reduce the pain. You need to keep in mind it took a long time for the knot(s) to build up, and sometimes it takes a few massages to reduce or completely dissolve knot(s).
  • Do I need to leave immediately when my massage is done?
No - however, we may need the treatment room for another client. Therefore, we ask you transfer to the dedicated relaxation area and enjoy a cup of tea or water after your massage.
  • How often should I have a massage?
Anywhere between once a month to every 6 weeks is common. If you have chronic pain, then once a week may improve your quality of life. During stressful periods, many people choose to have a massage more often. Most people continue a once-a-month schedule to maintain what they have achieved.
  • What should I expect afterwards?
After a session, you and the therapist will have a brief discussion regarding the session, how you are feeling and what to do next. Most people feel very relaxed. Many experience relief and/or freedom from aches and pains. Sometimes you may not feel dramatic results right away. Watch for changes over the following days, such as pain relief, increased mobility or reduced stress.
