Our YEAR OF GIVING benefactor for August is the Jeff's Place in Framingham.

Jeff’s Place offers hope and healing in a supportive community for grieving children, teens, families, and individuals. Providing free support groups, individual counseling, educational training, and crisis intervention to the MetroWest community.

The Founding Director, Jenny Kaplan, grew up in MetroWest with her parents and two brothers. The eldest, Jeff, drowned just shy of his 18th birthday. Her family’s story of loss, healing, integration, and growth propelled Jenny into the field of Social Work and Bereavement Services.

In 2010, her journey led her back to the MetroWest where she founded Jeff’s Place. Though it started with supporting 6 families and 9 children, the demand for services quickly grew, prompting them to become an independent 501(c)(3) in 2011 and open their own center in Framingham, MA in 2013. Today, Jeff’s Place serves over 48 towns, offers 162 support groups and through virtual programming, counseling, and school groups assist 110 families!
